Pankaj Goyal, in his early forties, is at the helm of affairs at Honey Baby India. He is a second generation entrepreneur driven by the desire to create babycare products for the Indian market that can meet, even exceed, international benchmarks.
Pankaj graduated in commerce from Delhi University in 1993 and plunged into his family enterprise straightaway. At the start of the new millennium he diversified his family business in hosiery items to enter babycare, taking forward his late father Hari Ram Goel's vision. His father had set up a hosiery business from scratch in 1986 and brought it to a level of high maturity.
As a father, when Pankaj's children were born, he saw the discomfort they faced in using products, particularly diapers, which caused itchness and rashes. Those products were, he says, way short of international standards.
Thereafter his resolve was to give special, reliable babycare products to make those early years memorable. "Your baby's arms are the most precious jewels you will ever have around your neck, and my primary motivation is to create products that help you look after your precious jewels in those delicate early years," says Pankaj.
